The Hong Kong Art Archive (HKAA) was established with the aim of promoting awareness and study of Hong Kong artistic achievement on a worldwide basis. It hopes to provide students, academic researchers, curators, critics, artists and all other interested parties with both electronic and physical resources to aid study and appreciation of Hong Kong Art, with a particular focus on the work of living artists.
The Physical Resources
The archive which currently consists of a reference collection of books, exhibition catalogues and other materials on Hong Kong art, is located inside the Fine Arts Resource Centre. All are welcome to consult the archive during office hours (please phone before visiting).
The Online Database

- Visual Archive provides images of works by Hong Kong artists together with associated documentation and biographical information
- Bibliography serves as a guide to the literature on Hong Kong art in form of an online searchable database
- Chronological Database of Art Exhibitions offers a chronology of art events in Hong Kong
- Articles and Interviews Online provides a selection of full-text articles and interviews with artists
